Because of this, Moyock has begun to witness an increase in residential development as an emerging bedroom community for Hampton Roads. Moyock is the corporate headquarters of Xe Services LLC (formerly Blackwater Worldwide), a private security company that provides training for United States military and police forces and supplies private paramilitary forces in Iraq and other theaters. The company maintains a 7,000-acre (28 km) training center in the town on Puddin Ridge Road.
