Huntington Woods is an upscale city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,151 at the 2000 census. Huntington Woods is an inner suburb of Detroit and is bounded by Ten Mile and Eleven Mile Roads to the north and south, and by Coolidge Highway and Woodward Avenue to the west and east. The city has adopted the nickname of "City of Homes. " The western portion of The Detroit Zoo is located in the city and contributes to its taxbase. Huntington Woods is a Commuter Town, where most residents work in or around the inner suburbs of Detroit.
