Steele is a city in Kidder County, North Dakota in the United States. It is the county seat of Kidder County. The population was 761 at the 2000 census. The city was founded in 1880 and became county seat in 1881. Although they bear the same name, the city of Steele is not in Steele County, North Dakota.
