La Crosse or LaCrosse, is a town in Alachua County, Florida, United States, 15 miles from Gainesville, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 143. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 153 . The area around La Crosse is devoted to agriculture, especially potatoes; area is known as the "Potato District". Other products of the area include tobacco, vegetables, and cattle.
