It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. The Village of Fishkill is in the northeast part of the town on US 9. It is north of Interstate 84. NY 52 is the main street.
