Barnesville is a village in Belmont County, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Wheeling, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,225 at the 2000 census. The village is the host of the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival every September, attracting tourists from the area.
