Village and town were named for Thaddeus Coleman Pound, a Wisconsin state politician who was the grandfather of the poet, Ezra Pound. It is also notable for being the summer retreat of Kiefer Sutherland. Pound is part of the Marinette, WI–MI Micropolitan Statistical Area.
