The Town of Akron is a Statutory Town that is the county seat and the most populous town of Washington County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 1,711 at the U.S. Census 2000. Akron is home to the three-time defending state champions in high school football. As of September 2009 the team is contending for a fourth state title, and has won the past 43 games.
