Wadsworth is a city in Medina County, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1814, it was named after General Elijah Wadsworth, a Revolutionary War hero. The population was 20,810 with the 2006-2008 American Community Survey 3-Year Estimates. In 2010, the Wadsworth High School wrestling team became the first public high school to win the Division I state championship since 1977.
