Satartia is a village in Yazoo County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 68 at the 2000 census. Satartia is an American Indian word for pumpkin or "pumpkin patch," rumored to be due to the small gourds that grow around the area. It was founded in the mid 1800s and was famous for the Satartia Rifles, a civil war regiment and recruitment group. Currently there are two small country grocery stores and a cotton processing gin.
