Strunk is an unincorporated community in McCreary County, Kentucky, United States. The community's post office was established as Strunks Lane on February 18, 1892 and was probably named for George W. Strunk, who owned a local coal mine. By 1894, the post office's named was simplified to Strunk. Its ZIP code is 42649. Strunk is located at 36°37′19″N 84°26′01″W / 36.62194°N 84.43361°W / 36.62194; -84.43361 (36.6220236, -84.4335486) and at an elevation of 1427 feet (435 m).
