Efland is an unincorporated community in Orange County, North Carolina, United States. Efland is most likely the next town in Orange County to become incorporated. The Efland Ruritan Club host most of the towns activities including an annual Rodeo, Lumberjack show, Tractor Pull, Car Show and HYAA youth baseball. The club began in 1981 with Ben Lloyd (former County Commissioner and Farmer) as its first President. Efland has two schools including Efland Elementary and Gravely Middle School.

Because most utilities operate in near monopolistic conditions, they can be heavily regulated by local, state, and federal authorities. Generally, the local and state agencies are called Public Service Commissions (PSC) or Public Utility Commissions (PUC). Municipal Utilities and Rural Electric Cooperatives may be unregulated though.
