Mohawk is an unincorporated community in southern Greene County, Tennessee, United States, located 15 miles (24 km) northwest of the city of Greeneville. It is home to a post office, with zip code 37810. Mohawk is home to McDonald Elementary School, a Greene County public school that includes kindergarten through grade 8. The school was originally McDonald High School, built in 1919 on 6 acres (24,000 m) of land donated by Alex Ailshe. Its namesake was Earnest McDonald, a wealthy bachelor who donated money to build the school. The original building was demolished in 1957, and replaced by the brick building in use today. McDonald High School was dissolved after the 1966-67 school year, when the school was converted to an elementary school.
What is workers compensation law?
Workers Compensation establishes the liability of an employer for injuries or sicknesses which arise out of and in the course of employment. The liability is created without regard to the fault or negligence of the employer. Benefits generally include hospital and other medical payments and compensation for loss of income; if the injury is covered by the statute, compensation under the statute will be the employees only remedy against her or her employer. The workers compensation systems in place in each state are exclusive, no-fault remedies for most workplace injuries, and workers compensation attorneys guide injured workers through the process, to ensure that they receive appropriate income replacement payments and other monetary awards.
