Any person possessing either the education or the experience, or any combination of both the education and the experience, equivalent to that acquired in an approved school of vocational nursing may be licensed as a vocational nurse under the provisions of this chapter, provided that he or she successfully demonstrates to the board that he or she possesses the necessary qualifications, and successfully passes the examinations or tests as may from time to time be required by the board.
