Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 4614

Massage Therapists

Showing this section's text as in effect on January 1, 2011 (in force January 1, 2011 – January 1, 2015). View current text →

The Legislature finds and declares that due to important health, safety, and welfare concerns that affect the entire state, establishing a uniform standard of certification and regulation of massage practitioners and massage therapists upon which consumers may rely to identify individuals who have achieved specified levels of education, training, and skill is a matter of statewide concern and not a municipal affair, as that term is used in Section 5 of Article XI of the California Constitution. Therefore, this chapter shall apply to all cities and counties, including charter cities and charter counties.
