Traveling Expenses

When a state employee not covered by Part 2.6 (commencing with Section 19815) of Division 5 dies while traveling on official state business, the state shall, under rules and regulations adopted by the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board, pay the traveling expenses necessary to return the body to his or her official headquarters or the place of burial. This subdivision shall not be construed to authorize the payment of the traveling expenses, either going or returning, of one accompanying that body.
