The duties of the Bureau of State Audits are to examine and report annually upon the financial statements prepared by the executive branch of the state and to perform other related assignments, including performance audits, that are mandated by statute. For the purposes of this chapter “bureau” means the “Bureau of State Audits,” unless the context clearly requires otherwise.
