Cal. Sts. & High. Code § 73.1

The commission may relinquish any portion of State Route 275 that has been agreed to by a city in which it is located pursuant to those terms the commission finds to be in the best interest of the state. A relinquishment under this section shall become effective upon the first day of the next calendar or fiscal year, whichever occurs first, after the effective date of the commission’s approval of the terms.
