Major Risk Medical Insurance Fund

From money appropriated by the Legislature to the fund, the department may expend sufficient funds to carry out the purposes of this chapter and of Section 10127.16 of the Insurance Code, and Section 1373.622 of the Health and Safety Code.
(a) From money appropriated by the Legislature to the fund, the department may expend sufficient funds to carry out the purposes of this chapter and of Section 10127.16 of the Insurance Code, and Section 1373.622 of the Health and Safety Code.
However, the state shall not be liable beyond the assets of the fund for any obligations incurred, or liabilities sustained, in the operation of the California Major Risk Medical Insurance Program or for the expenditures described in Section 10127.16 of the Insurance Code, and Section 1373.622 of the Health and Safety Code.
(b) However, the state is not liable beyond the assets of the fund for any obligations incurred, or liabilities sustained, in the operation of the California Major Risk Medical Insurance Program or for the expenditures described in Section 10127.16 of the Insurance Code and Section 1373.622 of the Health and Safety Code.
