Fla. Stat. § 166.222

Building code inspection fees

Known as the Municipal Home Rule Powers Act

(1) The governing body of a municipality may provide a schedule of reasonable inspection fees in order to defer the costs of inspection and enforcement of the provisions of its building code.

(2) The governing body of a municipality authorized under s. 553.80 to issue fees shall post its permit and inspection fee schedules and its building permit and inspection utilization report required under s. 553.80(7) on its website.

(3) The governing body of a municipality that issues building permits may charge a person only one search fee, in an amount commensurate with the research and time costs incurred by the governing body, for identifying building permits for each unit or subunit assigned by the governing body to a particular tax parcel identification number.
