The special officers provided for herein shall be commissioned by the Governor, and their commissions shall continue so long as they are employed in such capacity by the railroad or other common carrier; but they shall be removed by the Governor at any time, in the manner and for the causes provided by law.
The commission of a special officer shall continue so long as he or she is employed in such capacity by the railroad or other common carrier. However, a special officer may be removed at any time, in the manner and for the causes provided by law.
