Board authorized to establish, operate, and maintain center; powers of board as to selection and compensation of administrator

(1) The Board of Public Safety is authorized: To establish, operate, and maintain the Georgia Public Safety Training Center for the purpose of providing facilities and programs for the training of state and local law enforcement officers, firefighters, correctional personnel, emergency medical personnel, and others; and

(5) As used in this chapter, the term "emergency medical personnel" includes emergency medical technicians or emergency rescue specialists who are certified or seeking certification as emergency medical technicians, paramedics, tactical emergency medical officers, cardiac technicians, or other medical first responders under Chapter 11 of Title 31 and who are employed in the capacity for which they are certified or seeking certification.
