Director — responsibilities

The operations of the authority shall be administered by a director who shall be appointed by the governor, subject to confirmation by the senate, and who shall serve for a four-year term beginning and ending as provided in section 69.19. An appointment by the governor to fill a vacancy in the office of the director shall be for the balance of the unexpired four-year term.

(1) On or before September 15, 2011, the authority shall submit a report to the governor and the general assembly assessing the extent to which each of the authority’s programs can be used to provide assistance to small businesses and making recommendations for legislative changes to such programs in order to better and more intensively focus economic development efforts on such small businesses. The report shall also address the extent to which the authority’s programs address local economic development needs and efforts.
