Iowa Code § 216.5A

Powers and duties of commission

Known as the Iowa Civil Rights Act

The act spans §§ 216.1 to 216.9A (34 sections).

The commission shall have the following powers and duties:

1. To adopt, amend, or rescind procedures as necessary for the conduct of commission meetings.

2. To sit as the final reviewing body for decisions issued by an administrative law judge following an appeal from a contested case hearing.

3. To make policy recommendations to the director for consideration to be incorporated with any recommendations from the agency to the governor and general assembly.
