Iowa Code § 222.64

Foreign state or country or unknown residency. Repealed by 2024 Acts, ch 1161, §135, 137

If the residency of the person is determined by a county or the state to be in a foreign state or country or is determined to be unknown, the county or the state shall certify the determination to the administrator. The certification shall be accompanied by a copy of the evidence supporting the determination. The care of the person shall be as arranged by the county or the state. Application for admission may be made pending investigation by the administrator.
