Livestock health advisory council — creation and membership

There is a livestock health advisory council, referred to in this chapter as the council. The council shall consist of:
1. A livestock health advisory council is created to support research of livestock diseases conducted by the college of veterinary medicine.
2. The council shall consist of all of the following:
a. Three cattle producers appointed by the Iowa cattlemen’s association, one of whom shall serve an initial term of one year, and one of whom shall serve an initial term of two years.
b. Three swine producers appointed by the Iowa pork producers association, one of whom shall serve an initial term of one year.
c. One sheep producer appointed by the Iowa sheep producers association who shall serve an initial term of one year.
d. One poultry producer appointed by the north central poultry association who shall serve an initial term of two years.
e. One turkey producer appointed by the Iowa turkey federation who shall serve an initial term of three years.
f. One milk producer appointed by the Iowa state dairy association who shall serve an initial term of two years.
g. One practicing veterinarian appointed by the Iowa veterinary medical association.
