Rules and regulations

Known as the Meat and Poultry Inspection Act

The act spans §§ 225-650-1 to 225-650-9 (72 sections).

The Director shall adopt rules and regulations as may be necessary for the effective administration of this Act. The Department shall adopt by reference federal regulations promulgated by the United States Department of Agriculture governing meat and poultry inspection, unless modified by this Act or any rule or regulation adopted by the Director for the administration of this Act. When amendments are adopted to federal rules which have been adopted by the Department, the Department shall file a notice of such adoption pursuant to Section 5-50 of the Illinois Administrative Procedure Act.
