Ind. Code § 3-10-9-3

Certification of question

As added by P.L.3-1987, SEC.191

Sec. 3. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), if a local public question must be certified to an election board by law, that certification must occur no later than noon:

(1) seventy-four (74) days before a primary election if the public question is to be placed on the primary or municipal primary election ballot; or

(2) August 1 if the public question is to be placed on the general or municipal election ballot.

(b) A referendum or local public question:

(1) under IC 20-46-1;

(2) under IC 20-46-9; or

(3) under IC 6-1.1-20 for controlled projects;

may be placed on the ballot only at a general election. Certification of a local public question under this subsection must occur not later than noon August 1.
