KRS 304.14-450

Policies to be legible -- Factors to be considered -- Type face style approved by commissioner

Known as the Long-term Care Insurance Act

The act spans §§ 304.14-010 to 304.14-675 (77 sections).

(1) All insurance policies subject to the provisions of KRS 304.14-420 to 304.14-450 shall be printed in legible type and in a type face style approved by the commissioner. The commissioner shall by regulation establish a list of type face styles approved as acceptable.

(2) In determining whether a policy is legible the commissioner shall consider, in addition to the requirements of subsection (1) of this section relating to type face size and style, the following factors:

(a) Margin size;

(b) Contrast and legibility of the color of the ink and paper;

(c) The amount and use of space to separate sections of the policy;

(d) The use of contrasting titles or headings for sections or similar aids; and (e) Any additional factors relevant to legibility which the commissioner may prescribe by regulation.
