There is a State Postmortem Examiners Commission in the Department.
(a) There is an Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in the Department.
(b) The Office shall:
(1) As allowed by staffing, advance forensic science through medical education and research; and
(2) Carry out any other duty established in law.
