In this subtitle, “returning veteran”:
(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.
(1) means an individual who left State employment to perform military service in the armed forces of the United States and who seeks reinstatement to State employment; and
(b) (1) “Returning veteran” means an individual who left State employment to perform service in the uniformed services and who seeks reinstatement to State employment.
(2) does not include an individual who left State employment while serving as a temporary employee.
(2) “Returning veteran” does not include an individual who left State employment while serving as a temporary employee.
(c) “Service in the uniformed services” has the meaning stated in 38 U.S.C. § 4303.
