Beginning January 1, 1993, in response to all original applications for a policy pursuant to subdivision (4) of section 375.001 and any such policy renewed from January 1, 1993, to December 31, 1993, for coverage on property located in the New Madrid Seismic Zone, as defined by the United States Geological Survey in Missouri, susceptible to Modified Mercalli intensity VII or above from an earthquake occurring along the New Madrid Fault with a potential magnitude of 7.6 on the Richter scale, the insurer shall provide information to the applicant or policyholder regarding the availability of insurance for loss caused by earthquake.
