Duties of the Council

It shall be the duty of the Advisory Council:

(5) To work closely with the Department of Public Instruction, Tribal Leaders, and Title VII Coordinators to improve coordination and communication between and among programs.

Effect of Amendments. - Session Laws 2013-295, s. 1, effective July 18, 2013, rewrote subdivision (1), which formerly read "To advise the State Board of Education on ways to meet more effectively the educational needs of Indian students"; inserted "for" in subdivision (2); added subdivisions (2a) and (4a); rewrote subdivision (3), which formerly read "To prepare an annual report on a fiscal year basis on the status of Indian education, said a report to be presented to the State Board of Education and to the various Indian tribal organizations at the statewide Indian Unity Conference"; in subdivision (4), deleted "the Division of Indian Education in" preceding "the Department" and inserted "Tribal Leaders, and Title VII Coordinators"; inserted "American" in subdivision (5); and made minor punctuation changes throughout.
