Appointment of compact commissioner

As required by Article VIII of the compact, the Governor shall appoint as compact commissioner an individual who represents at least one local board of education with a high concentration of military children. The compact commissioner shall be responsible for the administration and management of the State's participation in the compact.

Effect of Amendments. - Session Laws 2019-38, s. 1, effective June 21, 2019, substituted "an individual" for "a licensed North Carolina attorney", deleted "education, with preference given to an attorney representing a local board of" following "local board of"' and substituted "children" for "children or an attorney familiar with military issues" at the end of the first sentence.
