(1) For the purpose of promoting a safe and healthful environment and developing corrective measures required to minimize environmental health hazards, the Department shall establish a sanitation program. The Department shall employ environmental engineers, sanitarians, soil scientists and other scientific personnel necessary to carry out the sanitation provisions of this Chapter and the rules of the Commission.

(2) The following definitions shall apply throughout this Article: "Department" means the Department of Health and Human Services.

Effect of Amendments. - Session Laws 2011-145, s. 13.3(aaa), effective July 1, 2011, in subdivisions (b)(1) and (b)(2), substituted "Health and Human Services" for "Environment and Natural Resources."
