N.Y. Fam. Ct. Act § 580-301

* § 580-301. Proceedings under article. (a) Except as otherwise\nprovided in this article, this part applies to all proceedings under\nthis article.\n (b) This article provides for the following proceedings:\n (1) establishment of an order for spousal support or child support\npursuant to part four;\n (2) enforcement of a support order and income-withholding order of\nanother state without registration pursuant to part five;\n (3) registration of an order for spousal support or child support of\nanother state for enforcement pursuant to part six;\n (4) modification of an order for child support or spousal support\nissued by a tribunal of this state pursuant to part two.B.;\n (5) registration of an order for child support of another state for\nmodification pursuant to part six;\n (6) determination of parentage pursuant to part seven; and\n (7) assertion of jurisdiction over nonresidents pursuant to part\ntwo.A.\n (c) An individual petitioner or a support enforcement agency may\ncommence a proceeding authorized under this article by filing a petition\nin an initiating tribunal for forwarding to a responding tribunal or by\nfiling a petition or a comparable pleading directly in a tribunal of\nanother state which has or can obtain personal jurisdiction over the\nrespondent.\n * NB Effective until January 1, 2016\n * § 580-301.
