* § 580-304. Duties of initiating tribunal. (a) Upon the filing of a\npetition authorized by this article, an initiating tribunal of this\nstate shall forward three copies of the petition and its accompanying\ndocuments:\n (1) to the responding tribunal or appropriate support enforcement\nagency in the responding state; or\n (2) if the identity of the responding tribunal is unknown, to the\nstate information agency of the responding state with a request that\nthey be forwarded to the appropriate tribunal and that receipt be\nacknowledged.\n (b) If a responding state has not enacted this article or a law or\nprocedure substantially similar to this article, a tribunal of this\nstate may issue a certificate or other document and make findings\nrequired by the law of the responding state. If the responding state is\na foreign jurisdiction, the tribunal may specify the amount of support\nsought and provide other documents necessary to satisfy the requirements\nof the responding state.\n * NB Effective until January 1, 2016\n * § 580-304. If the responding tribunal is in a\nforeign country, upon request the tribunal of this state shall specify\nthe amount of support sought, convert that amount into the equivalent\namount in the foreign currency under applicable official or market\nexchange rate as publicly reported, and provide any other documents\nnecessary to satisfy the requirements of the responding foreign\ntribunal.\n * NB Effective January 1, 2016\n
