N.Y. Fam. Ct. Act § 580-506

* § 580-506. Contest by obligor. (a) An obligor may contest the\nvalidity or enforcement of an income-withholding order issued in another\nstate and received directly by an employer in this state in the same\nmanner as if the order had been issued by a tribunal of this state.\nSection 580-604 (choice of law) applies to the contest.\n (b) The obligor shall give notice of the contest to:\n (1) a support enforcement agency providing services to the obligee;\n (2) each employer that has directly received an income-withholding\norder; and\n (3) the person or agency designated to receive payments in the\nincome-withholding order or if no person or agency is designated, to the\nobligee.\n * NB Effective until January 1, 2016\n * § 580-506. Contest by obligor. (a) An obligor may contest the\nvalidity or enforcement of an income withholding order issued in another\nstate and received directly by an employer in this state by registering\nthe order in a tribunal of this state and filing a contest to that order\nas provided in part six of this article, or otherwise contesting the\norder in the same manner as if the order had been issued by a tribunal\nof this state.\n (b) The obligor shall give notice of the contest to:\n (1) a support enforcement agency providing services to the obligee;\n (2) each employer that has directly received an income withholding\norder relating to the obligor; and\n (3) the person designated to receive payments in the income\nwithholding order or, if no person is designated, to the obligee.\n * NB Effective January 1, 2016\n
