N.Y. Gen. Bus. Law § 383

§ 383. Definitions. For the purposes of this article:\n 1. "Bedding" shall mean any mattress or box spring which can be used\nby any human being for sleeping or reclining purposes;\n * 2. "New" shall mean any material or article which has not been\npreviously used for any purpose, including by-products produced in the\nmanufacture of new fabric, and material reclaimed from new fabric;\nexcept that an article of bedding returned by the purchaser for\nexchange, alteration, or correction, within thirty days after date of\ndelivery after original sale at retail, shall be deemed to be a new\narticle, but thirty days after date of such delivery such article shall\nbe deemed to be used;\n * NB Effective until May 28, 2018\n * 2. "New" shall mean any material or article which has not been\npreviously used for any purpose, including by-products produced in the\nmanufacture of new fabric, and material reclaimed from new fabric;\n * NB Effective May 28, 2018\n * 3. "Used" shall mean any components from previously used bedding.\n * NB Effective until May 28, 2018\n * 3.
