N.Y. Ins. Law § 110

§ 110. Cooperation with other regulatory agencies. (a) In order to\nassist in the performance of the superintendent's duties under this\nchapter, the superintendent:\n (1) may share documents, materials or other information, including\nconfidential and privileged documents, materials or information with\nother state, federal, and international regulatory agencies, with the\nNational Association of Insurance Commissioners, its affiliates or\nsubsidiaries, and with state, federal, and international law enforcement\nauthorities, including members of any supervisory college described in\nsection three hundred two of this chapter, provided that the recipient\nhas the authority and agrees to maintain the confidentiality and\nprivileged status of the document, material or other information;\nprovided, however, that this paragraph shall not be construed as\nlimiting access to records pursuant to article six of the public\nofficers law;\n (2) may receive documents, materials or information, including\notherwise confidential and privileged documents, materials or\ninformation, from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners,\nits affiliates or subsidiaries and from regulatory and law enforcement\nofficials of other foreign or domestic jurisdictions, including members\nof any supervisory college described in section three hundred two of\nthis chapter, and shall maintain as confidential or privileged any\ndocument, material or information received with notice or the\nunderstanding that it is confidential or privileged under the laws of\nthe jurisdiction that is the source of the document, material or\ninformation; and\n (3) may enter into agreements governing sharing and use of documents,\nmaterials or information consistent with this subsection.\n (b) No waiver of any applicable privilege or claim of confidentiality\nin the documents, materials, or information shall occur as a result of\ndisclosure to the superintendent under this section or as a result of\nsharing as authorized in this section.\n
