Number of supreme court justices in each judicial district

§ 140-a. Number of supreme court justices in each judicial district.\nThe number of justices of the supreme court in each judicial district\nshall be as follows:\n 1. First district, thirty-eight;\n 2. Second district, fifty-three;\n 3. Third district, seventeen;\n 4. Fourth district, fourteen;\n 5. Fifth district, nineteen;\n 6. Sixth district, eleven;\n 7. Seventh district, twenty;\n 8. Eighth district, twenty-eight;\n 9. Ninth district, thirty-four;\n 10. Tenth district, fifty-one;\n 11. Eleventh district, forty-four;\n 12. Twelfth district, twenty-nine;\n 13. Thirteenth district, nine.\n No person may serve in the office of justice of the supreme court\nunless he or she has been admitted to practice law in the state of New\nYork for at least ten years as of the date he or she commences the\nduties of office.\n
