§ 466. Attorney's oath of office. Each person, admitted as prescribed\nin this chapter must, upon his admission, take the constitutional oath\nof office in open court, and subscribe the same in a roll or book, to be\nkept in the office of the clerk of the appellate division of the supreme\ncourt for that purpose.\n Any person now in actual service in the armed forces of the United\nStates or whose induction or enlistment therein is imminent, or within\nsixty days after he has been honorably discharged, if the appellate\ndivision of the supreme court in the department in which such person\nresides is not in session, may subscribe and take the oath before a\njustice of that court, with the same force and effect as if it were\ntaken in open court, except that in the first department the oath must\nbe taken before the presiding justice or, in his absence, before the\nsenior justice.\n
