§ 32.19 Powers of subpoena and examination.\n In conducting any investigation, inspection, or hearing under this\nchapter, the commissioner and his or her authorized representative are\nempowered to subpoena witnesses, compel their attendance, administer\noaths to witnesses, examine witnesses under oath, and require the\nproduction of any books or papers deemed relevant to the investigation,\ninspection, or hearing. A subpoena issued under this section shall be\nregulated by the civil practice law and rules. The confidentiality of\ninformation obtained by the commissioner from patient's records shall be\nmaintained in accordance with applicable federal and state\nconfidentiality laws and regulations.\n
