§ 312. Statement of services. a. It shall be the duty of the head of\neach department or agency of the state government employing policemen\nand/or firemen, and of the chief fiscal officer of each participating\nemployer, at the request of the comptroller, to submit to him a\nstatement showing the name, title, compensation, duties, date of birth\nand length of service of each policeman and/or fireman: (exclusive of\nmembers of a local system), and such other information as the\ncomptroller may require. If any such policeman or fireman be principally\nengaged upon duties differing from those specified by the appropriate\ncivil service commission for the title held by him, such head of\ndepartment or agency, or chief fiscal officer, shall certify the reasons\ntherefor and the probable duration of the duties being so performed by\nsuch policeman or fireman.\n b. Each policeman and fireman shall be subject to all the provisions\nof this article and to all the rules and regulations adopted by the\ncomptroller.\n

If any such police officer\nor firefighter be principally engaged upon duties differing from those\nspecified by the appropriate civil service commission for the title held\nby him or her, such head of department or agency, or chief fiscal\nofficer, shall certify the reasons therefor and the probable duration of\nthe duties being so performed by such police officer or firefighter.\n b. Each police officer and firefighter shall be subject to all the\nprovisions of this article and to all the rules and regulations adopted\nby the comptroller.\n
