Powers and duties of constables and town police officers

§ 39. Powers and duties of constables and town police officers.\nConstables and town police officers shall have all the power and\nauthority conferred upon constables by the general laws of the state and\nsuch additional powers, not inconsistent with law, as shall be conferred\nupon them by the town board. They shall be subject to the general\nauthority and direction of the town board and to such orders and\nregulations as the town board may prescribe, not inconsistent with law.\n
