Section 2--102. Scope; Certain Security and Other Transactions Excluded\n From This Article.\n (1) Unless the context otherwise requires, and except as provided in\nsubsection (3), this Article applies to transactions in goods and, in\nthe case of a hybrid transaction, it applies to the extent provided in\nsubsection (2).\n (2) In a hybrid transaction:\n (a) If the sale-of-goods aspects do not predominate, only the\nprovisions of this Article which relate primarily to the sale-of-goods\naspects of the transaction apply, and the provisions that relate\nprimarily to the transaction as a whole do not apply.\n (b) If the sale-of-goods aspects predominate, this Article applies to\nthe transaction but does not preclude application in appropriate\ncircumstances of other law to aspects of the transaction which do not\nrelate to the sale of goods.\n (3) This Article does not:\n (a) apply to a transaction that, even though in the form of an\nunconditional contract to sell or present sale, operates only to create\na security interest; or\n (b) impair or repeal a statute regulating sales to consumers, farmers,\nor other specified classes of buyers.\n
