N.Y. Uniform District Court Act Law § 102

§ 102. Application of UDCA; court of record; seal. The jurisdiction of\nand practice and procedure in each district court governed by the UDCA\nshall be as prescribed herein, and such court shall be a court of record\nand a part of the unified court system for the state. Such court in each\ncounty shall have an official seal to be furnished by the county upon\nwhich shall be engraved the words "District Court of (insert name of\ncounty), New York, Seal".\n
