* § 7-704 Purposes in view. Such regulations shall be made in\naccordance with a comprehensive plan and designed to lessen congestion\nin the streets; to secure safety from fire, panic, floods and other\ndangers; to promote health and the general welfare; to provide adequate\nlight and air; to prevent the overcrowding of land; to avoid undue\nconcentration of population; to make provision for, so far as conditions\nmay permit, the accommodation of solar energy systems and equipment and\naccess to sunlight necessary therefor; to facilitate the adequate\nprovision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks and other\npublic requirements. Such regulations shall be made with reasonable\nconsideration, among other things, as to the character of the district\nand its peculiar suitability for particular uses, and with a view to\nconserving the value of buildings and encouraging the most appropriate\nuse of land throughout such municipality.\n * NB Effective until April 6, 2022\n * § 7-704 Purposes in view. Such regulations shall be made with\nreasonable consideration, among other things, as to the character of the\ndistrict and its peculiar suitability for particular uses, and with a\nview to conserving the value of buildings and encouraging the most\nappropriate use of land throughout such municipality.\n * NB Effective April 6, 2022\n
