Tenn. Code Ann. § 54-21-118

Restrictions on new outdoor advertising devices

Known as the Outdoor Advertising Control Act

The act spans §§ 54-21-101 to 54-21-120 (20 sections).

(1) After July 1, 2001, permits shall not be issued pursuant to this chapter for any new outdoor advertising device in which two (2) or more displays are stacked one (1) above the other. Outdoor advertising devices with two (2) or more displays stacked one (1) above the other that were legally erected on or before July 1, 2001, are unaffected by this subsection (a).

(2) The holder of a legal permit under subsection (a) may move the outdoor advertising device to a new location, if that location is otherwise eligible for a permit.
