For the purpose of determining the provider’s financial stability and protecting consumer interests, the Commissioner may conduct an examination of a provider concerning service contracts sold in this State to enable the Commissioner to determine compliance or noncompliance with this subchapter. The expenses of examinations shall be paid to the State by the company or companies examined, and the Commissioner of Finance and Management shall issue warrants for the proper charges incurred in all examinations.
